Source's preview
Deepcore member Mike Bishop is at it again, his previous mix for DR was excellent but this one is really something special and unique. I don't know how on earth he managed to pack so much energy and motion into this fine, fine blend of deep house, disco and lo-fi tracks. Do the slowmotion head nod now... Been listening to this one a lot and it's just perfect for the upcoming holiday season, thanks Mike!
In his own words
This mix was partly experimental yet all on purpose, a late night, a lower bpm (below 110bpm besides from the last few tracks) and a variety of new and old records, something downbeat yet something that could work on the lounge as well as the club. Recorded with 2x technics, mixer and KP3, the KP3 was used once during the whole performance to add some filter to the massive build and break on the track 'Sky High' by the Japanese band The Shake Up Connection.
I found it difficult during this random night to find tracks that would fit within the pitch sliders range, which says to that we can always learn more when we push the envelope or even when just enjoying ourselves.
It's not about whats new, it's about what we feel and what we think, and to never fall inside the 'box' with our art.
This was recorded with modified 1200's, fluid damper kits, rca replacements, ortofon 30 stylii, no ground wire's. 24 bit master is at 96K for anyone who is interested (and has very fast internet) as this file sounds best LOUD. The mp3 was dithered from 24 bits to 16, then transferred to 192 kbps Mp3 for you all to enjoy!
You can catch me play on the EstimuloShow every 4th Saturday of the month, and if you are in Perth, Australia i have a whole host of gigs lined up along with radio slots on RTRFM 92.1, hope to see you there!
