Webbed Hand’s first release of 2010 is the esoterically-themed experimental works by Materia Confusa. Rich textures and layers of sound convey impressions of the unseen workings of spaces beyond.
“Musica Universalis” is two works of otherworldly Musique Concrete. The title track is based on the concept of Music of the Spheres and is composed primarily of sounds generated by astronomical objects. The “maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes” of the final track echoes the Lovecraftian mythos of the blind idiot god Azathoth and his mad dance at the center of the universe. –Materia Confusa
