On Bits, Birkin explores generative music composition using algorithms and phasing patterns. “bs01e” opens the release with gurgling wet pops and organic percussion sounds combined with resonating tones that slowly builds into a dark sythn-driven IDM journey. “Ovst3p-m12” is created with heavy breathing synthesized drum machines and granular synthesis, which are seamlessly assembled into a evolving dark clinical composition. “it will bibble around” is a quirky track full of dismantled clicks, claps and cuts that rhythmically morph into a clean sparsely constructed melody. ”odd7c3” leaves the listener with a haunting atmospheric closure created with reverberating gloomy synths and unsettling alien tones.
