Kyiv, Ukraine based sound artist and Energostatic Records netlabel co-founder Mar'yan Kitsenko has been producing music under the moniker Marc Atmost since the early nineties. Since laying that alias to rest in 2012, he returns with two sophisticated dark dubby techno numbers for basic_sounds.
The title track is an eight-minute long journey that begins with sounds of cracking fire that seamlessly morphs into a roaming dub track full of reverberating spanning chords layered with bright chiming tones. “Black Flowers” brilliantly shifts with ease around the six-minute mark into an emotive trance inducing closure. Amazing. “Orders Of Magnitude” is a quirky techno number, controlled with immaculate pulsating deep baselines while incorporating alien-like squawks, modern jazz samples and warm melodies. Overall Mar’yan Kitsenko delivers two masterfully ingenious tracks integrating elements of the unexpected.
